Webinar ‘Corrosion Inhibitors: how to choose the correct CI for your system?’

ZOOM
Start: 14 May, 2025
/ End: 14 May, 2025

On May 14ᵗʰ, at 09:00 AM (CST) / 11:00 AM (BRT), we will host the webinar “Corrosion Inhibitors: How to choose the correct CI for your system?”. This is a great opportunity for professionals who want to deepen their technical knowledge about corrosion and corrosion inhibitors.

During the session, we will present the main types of corrosion, explain how to select the most suitable inhibitor for each system, and provide an overview of our product portfolio, including performance testing.

The webinar will be led by John Clements, our Research Scientist, and will explore how the combination of primary and secondary inhibitors can enhance asset durability, reduce maintenance costs, and help prevent unexpected downtime.

Participation is free and online.

Plant-based hydrotropes

What was the challenge?

Hydrotropes are essential ingredients to ensure the stability of cleaning formulations, prevent the separation of components, and maintain effectiveness over time. Recognizing their importance and the potential for advancement in this field, we saw an opportunity to innovate with a plant-based alternative, combining high performance with environmental responsibility, and a focus on well-being.

Our solution

Drawing on decades of expertise in applied chemistry, Indovinya developed SURFONIC® H-1040, an anionic hydrotrope with more than 80% plant-based origin, free of phosphates, aromatics, and BTEX.

In addition to being biodegradable and safe, it delivers superior performance, requiring only 1/3 to 1/4 of the dosage of SXS to stabilize formulations. Its liquid format makes it easy to handle and reduces energy consumption in the manufacturing process.

Results

  • Three to four times higher hydrotropic performance compared to SXS
  • Up to 66% reduction in carbon footprint, according to LCA (Life Cycle Analysis) studies
  • Versatile application across different categories of water-based cleaning products (laundry, dishwashing, multipurpose cleaners, and degreasers)
  • Safe replacement for synthetic hydrotropes with a more efficient and sustainable alternative
  • Supports innovation in cleaner formulations, offering an improved toxicological and environmental profile
